His two most recent short films, Charlie (d. Lesley Johnson, 2018) and Lost Cat (d. Laura Bergeron, 2018) were both featured in the Toronto International Film Festival’s Share Her Journey showcase. Both films screened at the Inside Out Film Festival in Toronto and Lost Cat received the Jury Award for Best Canadian Film from the Queer North Film Festival in 2019. Since 2014, he has partnered with arts organizations to create documentary profiles of opera, theatre and dance productions in Canada. Andrew enjoys working with emerging filmmakers and organizations committed to challenging attitudes and conventions. His most recent production credits include The Nest (Hot Docs 2025), Parade: Queer Acts of Love & Resistance (Hot Docs 2025), the Peabody Award-winning Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story (Crave), and the Oscar-nominated To Kill a Tiger (NFB, Netflix). With a focus on documentary and short subjects, Andrew has also supported and mentored emerging filmmakers through his work with the National Film Board’s Filmmaker Assistance Program. For the past year, Andrew has worked as a freelance production consultant, advising independent producers on matters of production financing and business affairs.
